Aundh: Two Police Personnel Suspended For Fleeing Instead Of Taking Action Against Thieves

Pune, December 30, 2020: Two police personnel have been suspended for not stopping the thieves who were coming out of a housing society in Aundh. Police Constable Pravin Ramesh Gore and Police Naik Anil Dattu Avghade are the names of the suspended police personnel.

Both have been suspended due to negligence, irresponsibility and cowardice committed by both the police personnel on duty. CCTV footage of the entire incident has gone viral and it is clear that the accused were carrying weapons and other materials.

According to police, the incident took place on December 28 at Shailesh Tower in Siddharth Nagar phase 3 in Aundh. Some residents had informed the police control room after finding four thieves in society. The thieves had  caught the watchman and decamped with valuables from three flats. The two policemen were sent to check the thieves. However, police Head Constable Pravin Gore saw the accused and turned away his bike. Another CCTV footage shows the Police Naik Avghade leaving alone before the accused’s vehicle left. Police Naik Avghade did not catch the thieves despite having an SLR rifle. Therefore, they both have been suspended.
