Bhopal: In response to the controversial comments made by Shajapur Collector Kishore Kanyal during a meeting with protesting truck drivers, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has taken decisive action, instructing the immediate removal of Kanyal from his position.

The Chief Minister expressed strong disapproval of the derogatory language used by the Collector during the discussion with the truck drivers, emphasizing the need for officials to respect the work and sentiments of the less privileged.

Chief Minister Yadav, while addressing the media, condemned the language used by the Collector in the meeting and stated that such behavior would not be tolerated. He underscored that the government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is dedicated to uplifting the poor, and therefore, every official, regardless of their rank, should exhibit respect towards the work and sentiments of the less fortunate.

Expressing his disappointment, Yadav remarked, “As a human being, this cannot be tolerated in our government. Such an officer has no right to be in the field.”

The Chief Minister expressed hope that the incoming officer would be mindful of their language and conduct. He conveyed his personal dismay over the incident and vowed not to forgive such behavior.

The controversy arose during a meeting at Shajapur Collectorate on January 3 (Tuesday) convened to address the strike situation and engage with the protesting truck drivers. In the meeting, a driver informed the Collector that they had been on strike for three days and would take further action. In response, Collector Kanyal reacted angrily, dismissing the driver’s statement and questioning their status. The driver asserted that their struggle reflects their lack of status in society.
