ATS Busts Illegal Telephone Exchange in Pune's Kondhwa

Kondhwa, 29th August 2024: The Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) of Maharashtra Police has successfully uncovered an illegal telephone exchange operating in the Kondhwa area of Pune. The accused, identified as 32-year-old Naushad Ahmed Siddiqui, has been arrested in connection with the case.

According to ATS officials, Siddiqui was running the illegal telephone exchange from MA Complex in Mithanagar, Kondhwa. The operation involved the use of SIM boxes, which facilitated the exchange of calls through unauthorized channels. During the raid, the ATS seized various equipment, SIM box, 3,788 SIM cards, nine WiFi routers, mobile phones, antennas, and laptops.

All of the confiscated materials have been taken into custody, and a case has been registered against Siddiqui under various sections of the law. Further interrogation of the accused is underway.
