As COVID Cases Increase, PCMC Commissioner Issues Order To Penalize People For Not Wearing Mask, Violating Social Distancing Norm

Pimpri Chinchwad, February 17, 2021: Rajesh Patil, the new commissioner of Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), today issued an order asking people to strictly follow guidelines for the prevention of the Coronavirus disease (COVID19) cases in the city.

Today, 227 new Coronavirus Disease (COVID19) patients were reported in PCMC areas. Also, 34 people got discharged from hospitals. No death was reported today.

According to PCMC, the total number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 10,22,37 out of which 98,097 have recovered while 1827 have died. 781 active patients are still undergoing treatment. There are 120 non-PCMC residents currently admitted in PCMC hospitals, while 771 have died and 7776 have been cured.

The guidelines issued by the PCMC commissioner are as follows:
1) Every citizen is required to wear a mask while communicating in any public place, government and private office in the city.

2) The use of masks and sanitisers in the Wedding halls, cultural halls, all kinds of social, religious, political, sports, entertainment, cultural, educational activities, gatherings and similar events in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area is mandatory.

Similarly, as per the orders issued earlier, the organizers should ensure that there is no crowd of citizens in all the above-mentioned places. In order to prevent the spread of Covid-19, the number of citizens present at the above place must be limited as mentioned in the order issued earlier.

3) It will be mandatory to use a mask and sanitiser while communicating with citizens in all hotels, restaurants, etc. in the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area.

4) It will be mandatory to use masks and sanitisers in all the offices in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation area as well as in government and private offices.

5) A fine of Rs 500 will be charged for not wearing masks and Rs 1,000 will be charged for spitting on roads and public places. PCMC’s Assistant Health Officers, Chief Health Inspector and Health Inspector of all the eight wards can charge citizens Rs 500 for not wearing masks and Rs 1000 for spitting on the road until the spread of coronavirus in the city stops.

6) All the Assistant Health Officers, Chief Health Inspectors and Health Inspectors, Encroachment Inspectors, Licensing Inspectors and Office Superintendents working in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation have been given power that if any person is seen in any public place, government offices and private offices without a mask will be charged Rs 500 fine and Rs 1,000 will be charged for spitting on roads and public places. These powers are also being given to all the police in view of the effective and severe effect of this action.

7) In case of a crowd of the citizens, Assistant Health Officer, Chief Health Inspector and Health Inspector, Encroachment Inspector, Licensing Inspector and Office Superintendent should visit from time to time to check whether the citizens are following the orders regarding the use of masks. Strict action should be taken against those who violate the guidelines,

8) Orders issued earlier regarding the use of masks will remain.

9) All the activities which have been permitted from time to time, will continue till further orders as per the orders and guidelines issued for it.
