10 Jan 2019, Pune- In our efforts to consistently provide better services and improve the infrastructure at airports in India, Airport Authority had organized the “Innovate for Airports” Program under the Startup India Initiative. Under this program, startups across India got a chance to submit innovative solutions for Airports. This initiative aimed at boosting and recognizing companies in the Indian start up segment. Over 350 start ups were screened across the country and 8 were selected to implement their solution at various airports in India.

One of these 8 most innovative solutions, Baggage AI is presently under trials at the Pune Airport. It is an Artificial Intelligence based solution developed to enhance the security at airports. Baggage AI is a first-of-its-kind threat detection system for security X-ray machines.

This Al software technology can automatically detect various objects and other threats from the X-Ray images during the screening of baggage and alert the operators.

Baggage Al can add another layer of security to the existing layer of human screeners. It intends to provide invaluable support for security operators in real-time. Moreover, it operates like a second pair of eyes that is consistent, never fatigues, and is always fully alert. The human can work with the Baggage Al like a partner to help make the right decisions.

This solution has been developed by Dimensionless Technologies, a start up by IIT Alumni.

AAI supports Indian companies that have the potential to stand out in the global markets too.
