Army Thwarts Infiltration Attempt in Jammu and Kashmir’s Battal Sector, One Soldier Injured
Srinagar, 23rd July 2024: On Tuesday, Army personnel successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt in Jammu and Kashmir’s Battal sector. The encounter resulted in injuries to one soldier. The ongoing operation is addressing the situation.
According to a White Knight Corps update on X, “Vigilant troops prevented an infiltration attempt by engaging the infiltrators with precise fire at 0300 hours in the Battal Sector. One soldier has been injured in the exchange of heavy fire. The operation is still in progress.”
This incident follows a recent event in Rajouri, where security forces averted twin terrorist attacks on an Army post and a Village Defence Group (VDG) member’s residence. The terrorists initially targeted the VDG member’s house in the Gundha area of Khawas tehsil, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire and grenade attacks.
