Appeal to send Rakhi for Jawans on borders
The tradition of sending Rakhi to the soldiers by citizens from Pimpri-Chinchwad is been carried out since more than a decade. This year the program will be organized in the PCMC school near Chinchwad station on 8th of August 2015 at 11 am.
Environment expert Vikas Patil is spearheading the campaign.
The program is expected to be carried out in the presence of Education officer, MLA, MP, mayor, corporators etc.
Rakhi from all the schools and organizations will be accepted and will then be sent via post on 19th of August. These Rakhi will safely reach to the soldiers on the borders on the occasion of Rakshabandhan (29th of August).
Those who wish to send Rakhi should send them in a simple paper envelope mentioning their name, address and number. This packet can be given to the principal of the nearby municipal school or can be submitted at the venue of the program at the mentioned time. The envelopes won’t be accepted before or after the mentioned time.
Citizens can express their love towards the soldiers and country by handing over atleast one Rakhi which would surely bring a smile on the soldier’s face.
Students can hand over the Rakhi to their respective class teacher.
The schools who train children in making Rakhis are welcomed.
All Rakhis should be packed properly in a cloth bag or a paper envelope only.
The following details should be mentioned on the envelope or the packet –
School name, address and the amount of Rakhi. Please mention the contact number if possible)
The use of Environment friendly materials for making Rakhi should be encouraged. Each and every school will be given a participation letter, Patil said.
