Ambulance Registered In Mumbai Railway DCP’s Name Illegally Sold To Pune Firm, One Booked

Pune 12th Sept 2023: An employee of a private firm in Pune has lodged a complaint with Pimpri Chinchwad police against a person who allegedly duped the company by illegally selling an ambulance registered on the Mumbai’s Deputy Commissioner of Police of the Railway’s name. The incident came to light after the accused stopped responding to the company officials after assuring to transfer the vehicle on their name and they checked the details of vehicle through local Regional Transport Office (RTO) on their own.

The company officials were shocked to know that the ambulance was registered in the DCP’s name and it was sold to a scrap dealer. The accused purchased it from the scrap dealer and sold it to the company claiming it to be of his own. He took Rs 2 lakh for the vehicle as per the deal and he was supposed to receive Rs 20,000 after the vehicle is transferred on the company’s name. The deal was done and the vehicle was delivered in February last year. However, the company officials after realising that they have been duped reached out to the local police to lodge a complaint in the matter.

A case in this regard has been registered at Mahalunge MIDC police station under sections 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused identified as Zakir Khan, a resident of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. Further investigation in the matter is underway. According to police, the company employees were searching for the vehicle online and came in contact with the accused.
