All Schools in Pune District Closed Tuesday Due to Predicted Heavy Rain

Pune, 8th July 2024: In light of a heavy rain warning issued by the Regional Meteorological Center, District Collector Dr. Suhas Diwase, who also serves as the chairman of the district disaster management authority, has declared a holiday for all schools up to the 12th standard in Pune district on Tuesday, July 9.
The decision aims to prevent any untoward incidents and to ensure the safety of students amid the anticipated heavy rainfall. While students will stay home, the order mandates that all principals, teachers, and non-teaching staff be present during regular office hours to undertake disaster management duties as directed by the local administration.
The District Collector has also issued a caution to citizens, advising them to avoid tourist spots like waterfalls and to venture out only if absolutely necessary. This measure is intended to minimize risks and ensure public safety during the severe weather conditions expected on Tuesday.
