Pimpri, 10th February: On Friday, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister and Pune District Guardian Minister, Ajit Pawar, undertook a tour of Pimpri-Chinchwad, where he participated in the Bhoomipujan (groundbreaking ceremony) and inauguration of various development projects by the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). Among the inaugurated projects was a residential building adjacent to the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, intended to accommodate students pursuing post-graduate medical courses.

During his visit, Pawar was briefed about the commencement of post-graduate degree courses at YCM Hospital, with plans underway to establish a nursing college on the second floor of an 11-storey building within the hospital premises. PCMC Commissioner Shekhar Singh apprised Pawar of the proposal, prompting Pawar to promptly engage with Dinesh Waghmare, the then secretary of the medical education department, instructing him to expedite the necessary approvals for the establishment of the nursing college. Pawar emphasized the importance of swift action, urging for the file to reach him by Monday with all requisite approvals.

Addressing concerns about the cleanliness and upkeep of areas surrounding the newly inaugurated Metro line from Dapodi to Pimpri in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pawar expressed dissatisfaction with the prevailing conditions, directing the Commissioner to address the issue promptly.

While acknowledging that the matter falls within the purview of the Metro authorities, Pawar indicated his intention to raise the issue with Metro General Manager Shravan Hardikar, emphasizing the importance of maintaining cleanliness and infrastructure standards along the Metro route.
