Ahmednagar, 29th June 2024: Chandan Kumar Ram Kumar, a 28-year-old peon from Barabanki district, Uttar Pradesh, employed at a military camp in Ahmednagar, has been sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment by Special District Judge Madhuri H More.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 7,000 on him for committing unnatural sexual assault on an eight-year-old boy.

The sentencing followed a comprehensive trial where Additional Public Prosecutor Ujwala Jitendra Thorat presented a strong case supported by testimony from 13 witnesses who corroborated the accused’s guilt.

According to the prosecution, between August 2022 and September 2020, Chandan Kumar exploited his position and authority, showing pornographic videos on his mobile phone to coerce the child into unnatural sexual acts. He further threatened the victim with harm if the incidents were disclosed.

The case was registered at Bhingar Camp Police Station in Ahmednagar and investigated by PSI Kiran Salunke, with assistance from police personnel RD Adsul, Santosh Tekale, and RB Doke.

In her ruling, Judge Madhuri H More emphasized the severity of the crimes committed against a vulnerable minor and highlighted the importance of stringent punishment to deter such offences in the future.
