After Jio Now VI Also Tests 5G In 26 GHz And 3.4 Ghz Bands In Pune
Pune 18th August 2023: The Department of Telecom, Maharashtra has announced that the Maharashtra Licensed Service Areas (LSA) Pune conducted successful testing of 5G service (MRO Phase 1) of Vodafone Idea (VI) in 26GHz and 3.3GHz bands in the city on August 16. The testing was conducted at Ghole Road in the city on August 16.
According to officials, the testing was conducted in a bid to meet the minimum rollout obligations mandated by the Department of Telecommunication as the telecom company is likely to miss it in 15 out of 17 circles acquired spectrum in the auction conducted in July last year.

It may be noted that Bharti Airtel and Jio both have met the minimum obligations to roll out the service. Reliance Jio had also conducted the testing in Pune on August 5. “Reliance Jio 5G testing (MRO phase-1) in 26GHz band @ Shanti Nagar, Wanowrie Pune and in 3.5GHz at Wadagon, Maval, Pune successfully completed on 07 August 2023 by Maharashtra LSA Pune ” Department of Telecom had tweeted.
