After 5 months, 2 children from Bihar found in Pune

Two children from Bihar who had gone missing five months back, were reunited with their families on Thursday by the social security cell (SSC) of Pune city police. All over Maharashtra ‘Operation Muskan’ has been launched to trace missing children.

The children have been identified as Randhir Lalmohan Manjhi (14) and his cousin Rohitkumar Deeplal Manjhi (15), both residents of Mehsaul in Sitamarhi district of Bihar.Their parents are daily wage labourers.

According to police, the kids had left their village in February without informing their parents. There were found loitering on Pune railway station by volunteers of NGO Sathi. For the last five months they were kept at the observation home in Shivajinagar.

SSC in-charge police inspector Rajkumar Waghchaure said, “We found details of their families who had become sick. Their joy knew no bound when we informed that their kids have been found and they are safe. After the parents came to Pune, we handed over the children to them after completing the formalities.”

Investigation team included assistant police inspector Nita Misal, police sub inspector Deepak Sapre, Shashikant Shinde and policemen Suresh Vidhate, Ramesh Lohkare, Rajesh Umbre, Sachin Shinde and Ganesh Jagtap.
