Advance Application and Auction Process for Attractive Vehicle Registration Numbers Begins at Pune RTO
Pune, 16th October 2024: The Pune Regional Transport Office (RTO) has initiated the process of accepting advance applications and conducting auctions for attractive and preferred registration numbers for two-wheelers and private four-wheelers in the upcoming series. Vehicle owners can reserve their preferred registration numbers by paying three times the regular fee.
Four-wheeler owners who wish to reserve attractive or preferred numbers must submit their applications in the prescribed format, along with the required fee, at the Private Vehicle Registration Section on October 23, between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm. If multiple applications are received for the same number, a list will be published on the office notice board. Auction deposits (in the form of Demand Drafts) will be accepted until 2:30 pm on October 24, and the auction will take place at 4 pm on the same day in the Co-operative Hall.
Similarly, two-wheeler owners interested in attractive or preferred numbers should apply on October 24, between 10:30 am and 2:30 pm. If more than one application is received for a particular number, a list will be published on the notice board. Auction deposits will be accepted until 2:30 pm on October 25, with the auction set for 4 pm that day in the Sahkar Hall.
It is important to note that if the vehicle registration process is not completed within six months of reserving the preferred number, the validity of the reservation will expire. However, the process has been updated, and expired numbers are now available on the National Informatics Centre (NIC) website. These numbers can be issued on a “first-come, first-served” basis to new applicants.
