Pune, 3rd June 2024: In Pune’s Kalyani Nagar Porsche incident, where a minor, intoxicated and speeding, killed two people, his blood sample was swapped, and evidence was tampered with to prevent prosecution. The boy was brought to Sassoon General Hospital on 19th May. Police have obtained CCTV footage from that day, which has made significant revelations. Investigating Officer and Assistant Commissioner of Police Sunil Tambe stated that more people might be involved. To protect the minor accused, his blood sample was swapped.

Regarding this, the minor accused’s father, Vishal Agarwal, and mother, Shivani Agarwal, along with Dr. Ajay Taware and Dr. Shrihari Halnor, and peon Atul Ghatkamble from Sassoon Hospital, have been detained by Pune police. ACP Tambe mentioned in court that the intermediary between the Agarwal couple and the Sassoon staff during the blood sample tampering is still being investigated. The blood samples of the Agarwal couple are to be taken and sent for DNA testing. It is alleged that Vishal Agarwal contacted peon Ghatkamble and then paid Dr Halnor Rs 3 lakh through two middlemen. These middlemen are currently being sought.

It is possible that Dr. Halnor, attempting to save the minor accused, gave the blood sample to the Agarwal couple. As this matter requires further investigation, public prosecutor Adv Vishal Konghe argued in court that the Agarwal couple should be placed in police custody. Adv Prashant Patil defended the accused. After hearing both arguments, Justice SS Waghmare granted police custody to the Agarwal couple.
