A blissful mix of Odissi, Bharatnatyam and Kathak performance to reminisce Lord Krishna

Pune, April 16, 2018: A one of its kind unique classical dance performance by Urvashi Shrivastava on Krishna’s life incarnation will soon be unfolded in the city. The program is organized by a well-known dance academy Urvashi Kala Srishti on Sunday, April 22 from 5- 8pm at Pt. Bhimsen Joshi Auditorium, Aundh. The entry to program is free for all.

The event is weaved around solo dance performance of renowned classical dancer Urvashi Shrivastava portraying the life and worldly deeds of lord Krishna. The three hour long programme opens with prayer of Lord Krishna. Krishna’s life will benarrated in Odissi, Bharatnatyam and Kathak. Krishna’s divine acts in the epic Geet Govindam will be reflected through Odissi dance. Lord Krishna’s worldly bravado, fun and pranks will be presented in Bharatnatyam dance form. Shrivastava would present several holi dances in Kathak dance style, too.

All three classical dance forms are synergized in an aesthetic melodious sequence, paragon purity of temple and ecstasy.

‘Urvashi Kala Srishti’ is unique dance institute where Indian classical and folk dances are taught under one roof under the guidance of Urvashi Shrivastava. Besides teaching dance of all Indian classical, folk and contemporary forms, the academy also conducts workshops on wholesome health programmes through dance.
