Pune/Srinagar, 11th September 2021: We have often seen pictures of Lord Ganesha being welcomed in an atmosphere of traditional clothes, a dhol-tasha squad, banners, and rangolis.

However, in the Machil sector of north Kashmir, Ganesha was welcomed by the Indian army jawans in an army van with patriotic songs.

Locals also enjoyed the festival along with military personnel. Locals also appreciated the idea and participated by playing Lezim.

The soldiers celebrated Ganeshotsav to create an atmosphere of happiness among them and to inform the locals about the traditions of India. On this occasion, local people along with the army jawans enthusiastically participated in the procession of Lord Ganpati.

Soldiers also performed Lezim in the Ganpati procession along with the villagers. The idol was installed in the temple and Modak was distributed to the locals. The highlight of the Ganesha procession was soldiers making an idol from local soil.
