Pune: Housemaid Drugs Elderly Woman, Steals Valuables Worth Rs 8 Lakh In Kalyani Nagar

Kalyani Nagar, 5th September 2021: A maid who came under the pretext of housework drugged a senior woman and stole cash and jewellery worth Rs eight lakh from her house. The incident took place at Indraprastha Society in Kalyani Nagar.

Based on a complaint from the 73-year-old woman, an FIR has been registered in the case at Yerawada police station.

According to police, the complainant lives alone in the flat while her other family members reside on another floor of the same building. On June 27 she hired a woman to work as a housemaid. She worked for two days and on June 29, the maid gave water to the senior woman for drinking laced with sedatives around 8.30 pm. As the elderly woman became unconscious, the maid decamped with Rs 4,000  cash and gold jewelry worth Rs 8 lakh from the house.

Police Sub Inspector Vishal Patil is further investigating the case.
