Kirkatwadi, 19th August 19, 2021: The development plan (DP) prepared for the village of Nandoshi-Sansanagar, which has been newly included in the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), is completely builder-oriented and no geographical location or utility has been taken into consideration while planning and preparing it.

Alleging this, the citizens have opposed the development plan and alleged that the plan was made to benefit only the builder’s lands by making the reservations in the completely wrong way.

The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) announced the development plan on July 30 for the newly included villages in PMC. Citizen’s objections and suggestions have been invited. Citizens of Nandoshi-Sansanagar have strongly opposed this development plan. Citizens have expressed displeasure over the large-scale reservation of private lands instead of reservations for all kinds of basic amenities where public-owned space remains.

It is noteworthy that while preparing the development plan, hundreds of acres of agricultural land and necessary roads were not considered but proper roads were proposed for the builders.

“Four types of reservations have been made for the same group. They have planned the residences near three cemeteries. They have reserved schools, playgrounds, and hospitals on very fertile lands. Agriculture and particularly farmers have not been considered at all. The roads have been laid in the wrong way only for the benefit of the builders. The idea of making the roads available to the farmers was not taken into consideration while preparing the plan”, said Sandeep Sanas, former Sarpanch, Nandoshi-Sansanagar.

According to Rajaram Watane, Sarpanch of Nandoshi-Sansanagar, the development plan seems to have been prepared without looking at the actual geographical situation. A forestry zone has been set up in the main village and a residential zone has been set up where the builders have bought large tracts of land. All the villagers are opposed to this unjust development plan.
