Pune Airport: Contractor And Administration Hand-In Glove To Extort Heavy Parking Fee From People

Viman Nagar, 19th August 2021: The travellers and visitors at the Pune International Airport in Lohegaon have been the victims of exorbitant parking fees. There are allegations that the contractor and the airport administration are hand-in-glove behind the high rates of parking fees.

Rs 100 are charged if a person is waiting at the luggage area for more than three minutes. However, there is accountability for this and people are being charged arbitrary fines. M/s Lovelin Enterprises have been awarded the contract at the airport for parking management. Despite several complaints lodged with the airport administration, no action has been taken.

According to airport officials, they have surveyed and checked that the passenger can get out of the airport within three minutes after collecting the luggage. Therefore, this rule has been implemented to keep the area decongested.

Officials said that the work of building multi-level parking is going on. After its completion, the parking woes will be solved to some extent.
