Pune: Cake Cut With Pistol In Memory Of Deceased Criminal, Crime Branch Arrest Accused

Pune, 6th August 2021: The Crime Branch of Pune city police has arrested a man for allegedly cutting a cake with a pistol to celebrate the birthday of a murdered criminal. Police have seized the pistol from his possession.

The arrested accused has been identified as Akshay alias Prasad Shashikant Kanitkar (22), a resident of Bibvewadi.

 

According to police, Bhavesh Kamble, a notorious criminal, was killed last year. On July 7, about 10 to 15 people had gathered outside the house of the deceased to celebrate his birthday. Kanitkar had cut the cake by announcing the name of the deceased criminal.

 

Acting on a tip-off received by Uttam Taru and Mitesh Chormale, a team led by Senior Police Inspector Krantikumar Patil nabbed the accused near Datta Mandir in Bibvewadi. A country made pistol has been seized from him. He has been handed over to the Bibvewadi police for further action.
