Pune: Woman Tourist From Delhi Falls To Death From Jivdhan Fort In Junnar

Pune, 4th August 2021: A 30-year-old woman died after slipping from Jivdhan fort, about 120 km from Pune, in Junnar taluka of the district around noon today. The deceased has been identified as Ruchika Sanju Sheth, a native of Delhi.

Ruchika and three friends had gone sightseeing at Jivdhan fort near Naneghat this morning. While coming back, Ruchika slipped from the steps and fell. Her friends informed the police and the villagers. She was pulled out of the valley and taken to Junnar Rural Hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

Police Inspector Vikas Jadhav of Junnar Police Station said that a case of accidental death (AD) has been registered and further investigation is going on.

According to police, Ruchika had reached Thane on July 31. Four friends including Ruchika came to Naneghat on two-wheelers via Malshejghat on Tuesday. They spent the night there and today morning they went to see the fort. The incident took place when they were coming down.
