Pune: Four Tourists Nabbed In Lonavla For Creating Ruckus

Lonavla, 11th July 2021: A case has been registered against four tourists for driving under the influence of alcohol on the Mumbai-Pune National Highway and shouting in public places.  When they were brought to the traffic police post for questioning, they smashed the window glass of the traffic police post.

Based on a complaint from Head Constable Nitendra Ramchandra Kadam, an FIR has been registered at Lonavla city police station against Ganesh Sambhaji Salve (24), Saneet Sambhaji Salve (22), Navnath Sambhaji Salve (30), all natives of Khed taluka in Pune district who currently lived in Navi Mumbai, and Ramdas Baban Aute (30) of Ganegaon in Shirur taluka.

According to police, the incident took place on Saturday (July 10) at around 5 pm on the Mumbai-Pune National Highway between Avon Chikki Chowk to Kumar Chowk. The above four persons violated the Corona rules by consuming liquor, making a loud noise and creating ruckus while driving a car.

A case has been registered at Lonavla city police station and police constable Jayaraj Patankar is investigating under the guidance of police inspector Dilip Pawar.

The accused have been charged for offences under sections 427 (damage to property), 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant), 269 (negligent act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act, Prohibition Act, Maharashtra Police Act and Epidemic Diseases Act.
