Pune, 26th June 2021: On the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, the day of social justice, Congress leaders paid respects at Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj’s statue and staged a demonstration on RTO Chowk as the protests against the Central government’s anti-OBC quota policy continue across the State. The demonstration was led by State Congress Vice President Mohan Joshi and Pune city President Ramesh Bagwe.

“The political reservation for OBC community in local bodies across the State has come to an end due to the Modi government. Former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis is repeatedly misleading the public by lying about it,” the former MLA alleged.

“The Supreme Court had sought the OBC figures from the Central government. However, the Centre did not provide these figures. As a result, OBC reservation in local bodies across the State came to an end. The Modi government is constantly working to end reservation, constitution and democracy. Former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis is misleading the public on the OBC reservation issue. It is the Modi government’s ploy to deprive the OBC community of power by removing their political reservation,” Joshi added.
