Pune District Reports 1132 New COVID Cases Today, 819 Discharged

Pune, 26 June 2021: A total of 1132 new Coronavirus disease (COVID19) patients reported in the Pune district today while 819 people were discharged from hospitals. 14 people succumbed to the deadly virus in the last 24 hours. Today, a total of 1.14 lakh doses of COVID vaccine was administered to people in the district.

According to District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Bhagwan Pawar, there are 9256 active patients in the district and 5724 of them are admitted in hospitals while 3532  are in home isolation. Out of 1132 new cases, 226 were reported in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), 242 in Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), 97 in municipal councils (Nagar Parishad), 9 in cantonments and 558 in rural areas.

Among the 14 deaths, five were in PMC, one in PCMC,   and eight in rural areas. Out of 819 discharged patients, 335 were in PMC, 173 were in PCMC, 29 in municipal councils, 9 in cantonments, and 273 in rural areas.

In Maharashtra, 7.36 lakh doses of vaccines were given to people including 1.14 lakh in the Pune district. PMC Additional Commissioner Rubal Agarwal said that 50,262 people got the doses in the PMC area today.
