Pune, 25th June 2021: Young technology aficionado, Sunit Kumar Nandi can be rightly credited for having the first mover advantage for innovating and founding India’s privacy-first email provider, Letter. He is a well-grounded personality who believes in teamwork and maintaining relationships.

An ardent believer of ‘sharing with the society’ and has ingrained this philosophy as a core value of all his companies. With a never compromising attitude towards security, he has spent spending countless days, at times putting 20 hours of hardwork finding solutions to system loopholes, improving usability and optimising email deliverability, all resulting in an array of achievements to his name.

His entrepreneurial journey started in 2012 with the launch of an e-magazine named Techno FAQ that covers unconventional topics in Science, Technology, Computing, Business and Education. Major share of his college time was utilized in writing articles and exploring topics of reader’s interests. Within the next two years, the publication gained popularity and started receiving advertisements and advertorial campaign collaboration requests.

As the number of advertisers grew, he was able to generate more funds to research and generate better content. Progressing further 2019, he acquired two more e-publications, Tekh Decoded focusing on consumer electronics and LinuxBin, now nixFAQ focusing on Unix-family operating systems, their internals, apps, and hardware running Unix-family OSes.

Moving ahead with greater zeal, in October 2020, he acquired QuoQueZNC, an IRC bouncer/proxy service, which was later rebranded to Techno FAQ ZNC in December 2020. IRC is one of the most secure and private ways of communication. It is also open unlike the majority of the current messaging options. IRC is still popular among developers and enthusiasts. With an open standard and easy way to unrestricted communication, IRC is still the choice of hundreds of thousands of regular users. Techno FAQ ZNC hosts the ZNC bouncer to keep you logged in to the IRC network and deploy your own bots and tools. They are also one of the few recognized and certified ZNC hosting providers.

His professional journey took a greater leap in November 2020, and he founded Letter, a privacy Email provider with the purpose of providing email hosting solution that is user friendly and privacy respecting with world class support and industry first features. Letter bills on storage quota, not per user and has great features such as free Bitwarden password manager. Keeping affordability in mind, the plans start at just Rs 1,320 per year for 4GB storage and goes up to Rs 3,520 per year for 50 GB storage.

The product received a great response within the initial months of entering the market and the clientele today has expanded from national to international markets. 2021 marks the year of many new developments for Sunit. He launched an Enterprise Solution for businesses across the globe, starting as low as $110 per month. The state-of-art email hosting provides business grade email with no limitations and offers exclusive features such as unlimited users, unlimited domain names, unlimited aliases and unlimited filtering rules.

Furthermore this year, he also launched a digital marketplace named Market by TechnoFAQ, with a mission to provide high quality digital products, services and subscriptions with international payment options. Market by TechnoFAQ presently offers security services, managed hosting solutions, and custom UI/UX design solutions. Software, video gaming and streaming subscriptions are expected to be listed by 2021 Q3.

He is currently pursuing PhD degree in CSE at IIT Guwahati and is also a trainee teacher at NIT Arunachal Pradesh. A tech researcher, Sunit has written numerous academic papers related to Multipath TCP.
