Pune, 25th June 2021: Agitation will be organized by the Yuvak Kranti Dal (Yukrand) on June 28 in front of the District Collector’s Office at 11 am to demand justice for the families who have been deprived of the rehabilitation process in New Kopare village. The name of this movement is ‘Satyagraha for the right houses’.

According to Yukrand, 88 deprived families in New Kopare village have not been rehabilitated since 2001. In 2016, these deprived families requested the Youth Revolutionary Force to intervene in this regard. At that time, developer Sanjay Kakade promised to rehabilitate them but he did not keep his word. Finally, from April 17, 2017, to April 2018, the Youth Revolutionary Force took to the streets and carried out Satyagrahi agitation.

A meeting was held on 6th April 2018 at the Collectorate under the chairmanship of the then Collector Saurabh Rao. In this meeting, Yukrand president Dr Kumar Saptarshi, and other office-bearers along with developer Kakade were present. In this meeting, Kakade had promised to rehabilitate under the guidance of the Collector. Yukrand submitted documents containing evidence of 88 deprived families to the Collector.

After scrutinizing the documents, in January 2020, the then-District Collector Naval Kishore Ram acknowledged the rights of the deprived families and issued a notice to the developer Kakade. The process of rehabilitation of deprived families has not started since January 2020. No action has been taken against the developer Kakade for this injustice, Yukrand stated in a press release.
