Pune: Person Pushed From Running Train Over Water Scuffle, One Nabbed by Railway Police

Manmad, 18th June 2021: Gajanan Rathod, (33), of Hingoli taluka, died on the spot after getting into an argument over drinking water on the Goa-bound Manmad-Pune Express. The incident took place on Tuesday (Jan 15) on the Goa Express bound for Pune during the Daund-Kedgaon train journey. A case has been registered against youth in this regard, Railway Police said.

According to the Railway Police, Gajanan Rathod resident of Khanapur Savargaon, Tal. Hingoli and Nitin Deepak Jadhav (21), resident of Gondanvi Nehru Nagar, Shrirampur, Dist. Nagar was travelling on the Goa Express from Manmad to Pune on Tuesday. There was a dispute among them over drinking water. In a fit of rage, Nitin Jadhav threw Gajanan Rathore off the running train. As a result, Gajanan Rathore died on the spot due to serious injuries.

 

The incident took place between Daund and Kedgaon while Goa Express was going to Daund Pune. After throwing Gajanan Rathore from the train, accused Nitin Jadhav tried to flee by pulling the chain to stop the train emergency. However, the accused Jadhav was caught by the Railway Security Force personnel.

 

When questioned, he confessed to throwing Gajanan Rathore off a moving train, Railway Police said. The Lohmarg police have registered a case against accused Nitin Jadhav in this regard. Senior Railway Police officials visited the spot and gave necessary instructions to the local authorities.
