Pune: PCMC Commissioner Reviews Various Works Ahead Of Monsoon

Pimpri, 16th June 2021: In order to maintain the best pace of development, coordination in the work of various departments, proper working procedures and continuous follow-up are required, stated PCMC Commissioner Rajesh Patil.

Patil visited the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Ward Office at Nehrunagar today. He was speaking at a review meeting on the works in 2nd and 6th and various measures.

Various issues like ward level problems, monsoon works, encroachment as well as status of undertaken projects; Covid related planning was discussed in the meeting. The meeting was attended by Ward President Rajendra Language, Councillors Ashwini Jadhav, Yashoda Boinwad, Sarika Borhade, Sarika Language, Councillors Rahul Jadhav, Vasant Borate, Regional Officer Anna Bodde, Executive Engineer Nitin Deshmukh, Sanjay Bhosale, Sanjay Ghube, Ramnath Takle and others. Officials from Architecture, Electricity, Architectural Sports, Water Supply, Building Permits, Town Planning, Architectural Gardens, Zonipu Architecture, Health, Drainage, Encroachment etc. were present.

The dumping station at Jadhavwadi should be relocated, safety walls should be erected at dangerous places in high altitude slums, gardens should be developed, there is a lack of developed grounds in the included villages, roads in industrial areas should be tarred, action should be taken against hawkers encroaching on sidewalks, water supply complaints. Construction of new water tank, open gym, beautification of squares and roads, provision of adequate provision for works, streamlining of water supply, expeditious cleaning of drains, development of DP roads, works of various parks, water supply. The councillors suggested that water should be supplied at adequate pressure as well.

Patil said that it is necessary to take strategic decisions regarding long-term problems in the ward. When implementing a large project, it should be thoroughly planned. Therefore, such projects are less likely to have errors. He said that development works in any area need to be coordinated with the needs and demands of the citizens. While beautifying the major roads in the city, there are plans to plant attractive trees to balance unity and diversity. He also said that priority will be given to the planning of vendors.

The PCMC chief has directed to ensure that encroached reserved lands are not encroached upon, hanging power lines can be dangerous, proper management should be done, pruning of obstructed branches should be done, proper planning of water supply should be done and non-cleaning work should be completed immediately.
