Pune, 7th June 2021: In troubled times like pandemic, many people around us have become resourceless. The disabled, poor, orphans face the most difficulties as they may not necessarily have the means and measures to survive. However, the pandemic has also shown us innumerable helping hands and their good deeds.

Recently, a senior citizen group of Jubilee Girls School, Miraj and Sharda Mandir, Aurangabad came together to help those in need. They intended to provide ration kits to the needy in Pune.

They were hoping to provide ration kits to at least 500 families, helping them survive for a minimum of ten days. The members of the senior citizen group donated at least 500 rupees each and more. They had also appealed to society for donations. It came off as a surprise when they received more funds than they were hoping for.

After getting the funds, they were looking for communities that could be helped. Hence, along with Ravi Aarde (president, Matang Samaj) and Jaymala Kasbe (president, Juna Bazar Zopadpatti Vikas Manch), the group found out about the disabled, orphaned and some old age people who had no means to survive.

Apurva Jagtap, Raj Shrivastava, Lakshman Biradar, Chandu and Deepak Bhavnani, Raja Parmar and others helped to ready a ration kit and in distribution. Because of the number of donations they were able to help three settlements instead of one.
