Pune: PMPML Gears Up To Start City Bus Service From Monday

Pune, 6th June 2021: In Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has started 25% buses with 50% capacity for all citizens.
Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus disease (COVID19), as per the instructions given by the Maharashtra state government, public transport was completely banned from 03/04/2021. Few buses were plying for only essential category employees.
Now as per the new order, the lockdown has been partially lifted and public transport buses have been allowed to operate with 50% capacity. From Monday, 416 buses have been planned on 179 routes from 13 depots of the PMPML in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

According to PMPML, the buses running for essential services have been included in the 416 buses. The buses have been cleaned and disinfected to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
“It is mandatory for passengers to wear masks in the bus and follow social distancing norms. Passengers without masks will not be allowed on the bus”, PMPML stated in a press release.
The PMPML administration has appealed for compliance with 50 per cent seating capacity, adherence to social distance and use of masks.
