Pune: Firing On Builder At Dukkar Khind Near Chandani Chowk

Warje, 5th June 2021: A 36-year-old builder had a narrow escape when four rounds were fired at him near Dukkar Khind on the Pune-Bangalore highway. The incident took place around 9.30 am today.

According to Pune police, Ravindra Sakharam Tangude of Warje is a building construction contractor and he is also involved in land deals. The firing took place outside his office in Wonder Futura society. He was speaking to some labourers outside the office. After the labourers left, four men reached there on two motorcycles.

Based on a statement of the builder, police said that the two rounds were fired towards him but he escaped. Tangude fled towards the hill behind the society. The shooters chased him and fired two more rounds but again bullets missed him. Later, the shooters escaped towards Warje.

After getting information about the incident, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Pournima Gaikwad, Senior Police Inspector Shankar Khatke of Warje-Malwadi police station reached the spot.

Police said that Tangude has been acquitted in two murder cases in the past. The incident could be fall out of past enmity. Further investigation is going on in the case. CCTV footage of the area is being checked, police said.
