Pune, 21st April 2021: Patients who require oxygen will be admitted to the hospital, patients who have symptoms but are in stable condition will be admitted to isolation centres, said a Pune municipal corporation (PMC) official.

The official said, “Since last few days, municipal hospitals, Jumbo covid centres, and private hospitals are showing non-availability of beds. Many patients are on a waiting list outside the hospitals. In other districts of the state, some patients died as they did not get admitted to covid centres and not received treatment on time.

To avoid such a situation, the municipal corporation along with all the stakeholders discussed the bed issue. The corporation, therefore, decided that now only patients who needed oxygen will be admitted to hospitals, and patients who have symptoms but are in stable condition will be admitted to isolation centres. This will help for the availability of more oxygen beds in private and municipal hospitals.”
