Pimpri-Chinchwad, April 12, 2021: The number of Covid-19 patients in Pimpri-Chinchwad is increasing day by day. The number of critically ill patients has increased since the beginning of April. As a result, it has become difficult to get Remdesivir injection and plasma in the city which is required for treatment. Remdesivir is being sold at a higher rate in some places due to high demand and low supply.

The Municipal Commissioner has issued show-cause notices to three hospitals in the city three days ago after it was observed that they were selling Remdesivir at higher prices to patients admitted outside the hospital.

There is a picture of queues of citizens outside medical shops to get injections. Doctor’s prescription to buy injections, photocopy of patient’s Aadhaar card should available with the person who has come to take injections. So the relatives of the patients have to rush to get the photocopy done.

Also, PMPML buses are currently closed. So those who do not have their own vehicle, are having trouble in traveling. And there is a shortage of Remdesivir. So the relatives of patients have to rush.

Meanwhile, the order to provide Remdesivir by the hospitals itself was given by the Collector Rajesh Deshmukh. It is hoped that this will reduce the rush of patients’ relatives.

Plasma demand has been on the rise for the past few days. Plasma is difficult to obtain due to low stocks. Since there is a shortage, blood banks are asking to bring donors and take plasma. Relatives of the patients are facing many difficulties due to the non-availability of plasma.
