Pune: 300 People Evacuated From Central Mall In Erandwane After Chemical Leak

Erandwane, 29 March 2021: A minor chemical leak in the parking of Central Mall in Erandwane today led to the evacuation of about 300 people from the mall. This created an atmosphere of fear among the citizens. However, the situation was brought under control as the fire brigade team arrived on time.

 

According to Pune Fire Brigade, around noon people complained of uneasiness due to a chemical leak in the basement parking. People suffered from inflammation of the eyes, ears, nose and throat. Also, information was received that there was smoke in the parking lot of the mall.

 

“Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the mall was evacuated. A bag containing chemicals was found. The situation was later brought under control and the mall was reopened. Action to find more details about the chemicals is currently underway” fire brigade officials affirmed.
