Lonikand And Lonikalbhor Police Stations Included Under Pune City Police Commissionerate
Pune, 23 March 2021: Considering the fast-developing areas and rising urbanisation, Lonikalbhor and Lonikand police stations have been included under Pune police commissionerate. Earlier both the areas were Pune under rural police.
A proposal to include Lonikand (Ahmednagar road) and Lonikalbhor (Solapur road) was sent to the Director-General of police in 2017. Accordingly on October 26, 2020, a notification was issued which directed to include Lonikand under Pune police zone no. 4 while Lonikalbhor under zone 5.
A decision was taken on March 16, 2021, and both the areas were included under the Pune commissionerate from March 23 (today).
Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta said that both the police stations will get more manpower. The focus will be on resolving traffic issues and control crime in the area besides providing beat marshall patrolling.
