Pimple Nilakh: Mayor Inaugurates Sports Complex, Amusement Centre And Football Turf Ground

Pimple Nilakh, February 21, 2021: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) Mayor Usha alias Mai Dhore inaugurated Sports Complex, Football Turf Ground, and Amusement Center (Virangula Kendra) at Ward No 26 in Pimple Nilakh.
Party leader Namdev Dhake, Corporators Mamta Gaikwad, Aarti Chaudhe, former corporator Vinayak Gaikwad, executive engineer Vilas Desale, deputy engineer Sandhya Wagh, sports officer Razzak Pansare, Praful Puranik of the public relations department, senior citizens of the area, players and students were present on the occasion.
Mayor Mai Dhore said, “Pimpri Chinchwad is taking a leap towards becoming a smart city. The guidance of the elders is needed for the betterment of the city’s heritage, traditions, and culture. Through the Virangula Kendra, senior citizens should maintain good health through communication and various recreational activities. Similarly, newcomers should continue to be guided by their experiences. Which will in turn help strengthen the social health of this city.”
Ruling party leader Namdev Dhake said that senior citizens, police personnel, sportspersons, students live in the area, and activities to cultivate energy, vitality, and health among them will be conducted through this sports complex. With the guidance and idea of MLA Laxman Jagtap, this amusement centre has been created.
The corporation has set up a magnificent sports complex of 5,310 square feet at Kaverinagar in Pimple Nilakh. A 400 square feet red clay ‘Akhada’ has been constructed for wrestling in the sports complex. Exercise equipment has also been arranged. There is also a special time reserved for women. A 6180 sq ft football turf ground has been set up adjacent to the sports complex with a modern turf base for the players.
The amusement center has been set up in the Venunagar area in which 1250 square feet gazebo and 267 square feet stage have been constructed for senior citizens. A pathway of synthetic flooring has been made available for the citizens.
A children’s park of 724 square feet with synthetic flooring has been set up for children and an open gym of 242 square feet has been set up for citizens.
