Pune: Major Fire At Plastic Moulding Company In Sanaswadi
Pune, February 20, 2021: A major fire broke out at Sintex- BAPL Ltd, a plastic moulding manufacturing factory in Sanaswadi, in Shirur taluka, about 30 km from Pune.
Eight fire tenders (PMRDA -5, MIDC-1, PMC-1, Shirur Nagar Parishad -1) were rushed to the spot after getting a call around noon. The fire was extinguished after 3 hours and efforts were taken to control the fire and its spread to nearby industries.
According to officials, plastic and thinner caused dense smoke and huge fire with an intensity which resulted in a panic amongst all. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far. The cooling operation has started. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
