Autorickshaw driver loots passenger after threatening to kill him

Moshi, February 16, 2021: A young man travelling in an auto rickshaw was robbed by the driver and his two accomplices after threatening to kill him.

The incident took place around 4.30 pm on Sunday (February 14) at Moshi under the Indrayani river bridge.

Anshu Pratap Singh Yogendra Singh (26), a resident of Barge Vasti, Chakan, has lodged a complaint at MIDC Bhosari Police Station. Police have registered a case against the rickshaw driver and his two accomplices.

According to the police, the complainant was travelling in a rickshaw from Talwade to Moshi around 4.30 pm on Sunday. When the rickshaw came on the Indrayani river bridge at Moshi, the driver stopped the rickshaw under the pretext to attend nature’s call. The complainant was then taken out of the rickshaw and taken under the bridge.

They forcibly took the mobile phone worth Rs 7,000 and Rs 500 cash from the complainant. The accused fled away by threatening the complainant to kill him if he raised an alarm.

MIDC Bhosari police are investigating the case.
