Pune-Nashik High Speed Railway Project To Change Economic Dimensions Of Both Cities

Pune, February 11, 2021: The Nashik-Pune high speed railway project is a long-awaited and ambitious project of the Maharashtra state government. It may get a boost as the project came on the agenda of the state government’s infrastructure committee and a review meeting will be held in the next 15 days regarding this project.
The railway board has approved this project and a detailed project report was made by Maharashtra Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (Maha-Rail). Recently, a presentation was done before Chief Minister Udhav Thackeray, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and secretaries of various departments of state. It was decided to present this project before the infrastructure committee and after a detailed discussion, the project will be sent to the central government for funds allocation.
For this project, the land needs to be acquired in Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik districts.

Bank loan: Rs 9624 crore
State and Railway ministry share: Rs 3208 crores each
