Pune: Cleaner Woman’s Photo Goes Viral After Shared By Police Officer Nanaware

Pune, January 28, 2021: Little did Assistant Police Inspector BA Nanaware know that his small act of appreciating a woman cleaner would make her the ‘superstar’.

An aged woman cleans the Yerwada Police station every day. On Republic Day, as usual, she was doing her work when Nanaware posted her photo on social media. It became a huge hit among the netizens within a few hours. It was shared and re-shared a thousand times.

The lady Dugra mavshi cleans the premises at Yerwada police station and after the work sits under a tree and eats biscuits or vada-pav with the money she earns from her work. Interestingly,  she also feeds the dogs, birds and squirrels.

API  Nanaware reminiscing about it said, “I was transferred to the detection branch (DB) chief here when I met her. Initially, she was scared of me. But slowly, she started conversing with me. Every day she would ask me twice-thrice whether I had my lunch. She would enquire to the staff where I had gone if I was not around. When I got transferred from there, she was very sad.”

“Today she requested a photo with me. I consider myself lucky as I could bring a smile on her face”, he expressed his feelings.
