Corona Vaccination Drive Launched in Pune

 Pune, January 16, 2021: The Corona vaccination drive for the healthcare workers has begun in the city with launch at Kamala Nehru Hospital at 11 am today.

Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao, Deputy Mayor Saraswati Shendge, Standing Committee Chairperson Hemant Rasne, Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Additional Commissioner Rubal Agarwal, Head of Health Department Dr Ashish Bharti, corporators, doctors, nurses and medical staff were present at the inauguration ceremony.

Corona warriors are being vaccinated in the first phase at 31 centres in both the cities including Pune district. In Pune city, 55 thousand employees have registered and 22 thousand employees will be vaccinated today at eight centres in the city.

Process of vaccination  

For the first phase, a list of all the health officers and employees in the municipal area has been prepared. Each booth will have a team of five people, including one vaccinator, two supervisors and a security guard. Those who are registered will receive an SMS on the CoWin Vaccination Portal stating the date and time of vaccination. After seeing the SMS and taking the written consent letter from the concerned health worker he/she will be given a vaccine on his left hand.

Each vaccinated person will then be kept under the supervision of a special team for 30 minutes. If any symptoms or complications are found, they will be rushed to the hospital. The concerned persons if they do not show any symptoms will be allowed to go home.
