Pune, April 1 – Ever since PM Narendra Modi took office, government-to-people engagement and Digital India have been the two central pillars of his vision and mission. Keeping this in mind, the young and dynamic BJP MLA from Wadgaon Sheri constituency of Pune, Mr Jagdish Mulik has launched his very own citizen engagement mobile app.

He is the first MLA from entire Maharashtra to have launched his own mobile app and taken such a strong initiative in line with Digital India and citizen engagement. The app will also be complimented by a contact centre for people who do not own smartphones.

The dignitaries present for the launch event were Mr Yogesh MulikCorporator of Pune Municipal Corporation and also the brother of Jagdish Mulik, Mr Keshor Daga – one of the directors of Appynitty Communications, the company which built this app , Mr Sanjay Kurundker – Vimantal police station’s Senior Police Inspector and Mr Sanjay Patil – Yerwada police station’s Senior Police Inspector.

According to Mulik, this app and contact centre will take his “Good Governance” to a new level of “Great Governance”.

“By launching this mobile app, I want to take the initiative of starting a new revolution in 360 degree citizen engagement.

Today almost every constituent has a smartphone and they spend a lot of time in them. This presents us with a unique opportunity to use mobile apps for live and rigorous engagement with them, take their opinions, understand their issues and solve them using this highly interactive platform. This will also be key towards engaging our young members of society who are tech-savvy. However, I am also well aware that there are sections of our society where smartphones have not seen much usage. For this purpose I am also setting up a high tech cloud technology based contact centre. All that people have to do is just dial a single number and they will be able to engage with me. They can listen to my speeches, know the values that I stand for, leave me suggestions and feedbacks, take part in opinion polls and a lot more. We live in a Digital Age and this app and contact centre is essential in delivering not just Good Governance, but Great Governance,”Mulik added.

He is the youngest politician from Western Maharashtra and is very popular among the youth and working class citizen. His hard work and dedication has won him endorsements from several senior leaders from his party in a very short span of time.

While the app is still in beta phase, its maker – Appynitty Communications, will soon be releasing powerful new updates.

We also reached out to Mr Keshor Daga who spoke to us about how Voter First – the product which allows the creation of personalized mobile apps for any political leader in India, is bringing about a revolution in citizen engagement in India.

He said “Voter First is India’s first 360 degree citizen engagement platform for politicians. It can be used by leaders from the smallest Gram Panchayat level to a Central Cabinet Minister level. This platform was built not just by smart engineers but also through deep consultation with political experts who understand the need of politicians and citizen alike.

Our product is not just about the mobile app, but also the cloud contact centre for political leaders which can be reached by anyone by simply dialing a number. Our purpose behind this product was simple and clear – to allow politicians to engage with the people using cutting edge technology and in such a way that no one is left behind. For middle class, young and urban citizen we have the mobile app, where as for underprivileged, rural or citizen who are not too comfortable with technology, can utilize the cloud contact centre to connect with their leaders. This is also closely in line with our PM Narendra Modi’s vision of a digitally integrated India and we are glad that we are able to contribute to it and make a real difference.”
