High Buildings To Be Constructed In Pune, Govt Okays New Rule

Pune, December 6, 2020: The Maharashtra state government had appointed a “high rise committee” in 2015, under the chairmanship of the divisional commissioner to approve buildings over 70 meters high in the city. However, the unified development control and promotion regulations (DCR) will not require the approval of high rise committee anymore.
Certificates for project safety of structural designers and geo-technic consultants of the respective constructions will henceforth be considered, the regulations said.
This will pave the way for the construction of high buildings. The committee was appointed to approve the buildings considering the safety of the building above 70 meters in the city, structure audit, height of the building, height above sea level of the building as per the Army’s color code map and security measures. The proposal submitted to the Pune Municipal Corporation(PMC) was being placed before this committee.
