Pune, October 7, 2020: Taking into account the poor law and order situation in the city, Member of Parliament (MP) Girish Bapat demanded to form the ‘anti-gunda’ squad. He told this to newly appointed Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta.

He also told him to not to implement compulsory helmet rule in areas which are densely populated. Similarly, there should be increased vigilance regarding women safety and security in the city. Besides that the ‘vigilance committee’, should be formed in the city at a priority basis.

He also instructed to ensure that the general public is not harassed by the beggars at the signals.

Among other problems which he discussed with Gupta included taking permission from the State Government to allow people to visit temple, strict action against the triple seat motorists,  those involved in ‘drink and drive’ and proper planning regarding the keeping of the vehicles that were seized.
