Pune, September 12, 2020: The Shiv Sena has once again targeted Kangana Ranaut for comparing Mumbai to Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). This time Kangana was attacked in gestures by taking references from Mahabharata to Balasaheb Thackeray.

The Shiv Sena, in its mouthpiece Saamana, have taken the names of many legendary artists and implied that such people have contributed significantly in grooming Mumbai with their acting and work rather than hating crocodiles while living in water or by living in glass houses and throwing stones at others’ houses.

It is also written in Saamana that Balasaheb Thackeray kept the spark of self-respect in one hand and if someone feels that the spark has gone out, then they should blow it once.

PoK controversy

Shiv Sena wrote, “This dispute often comes in the part of Mumbai but Mumbai is reputed as the capital of Maharashtra, without worrying about these dispute mafias. The only question is that while the Kauravas were tearing the clothes of Draupadi in the court, at that time, all the Pandavas were bowing their heads. A similar scene was seen this time when Mumbai was being stripped of its integrity.”

When Maharashtra dies, the nation will also die

Shiv Sena, referring to Balasaheb Thackeray, said that the Shiv Sena chief always declared that the country is one and united. There is national unity but why is this trumpet of national unity always played about Mumbai-Maharashtra? Why does this talk of national unity not apply to other states? Maharashtra is a nation and if Maharashtra dies, the nation will die. But the controversy is raised only about Mumbai. There is a kind of political pain in this. Mumbai is and will be Maharashtra. Dr Ambedkar, the father of the constitution, has said this with pride.

Mention of famous film stars

Taking the name of many famous film stars, the Shiv Sena wrote that the film industry in Mumbai is providing livelihood to millions of people today. There was a time when mostly Marathi and sometimes Punjabi people used to walk in the industry. But veteran Muslim artists like Madhubala, Meena Kumari, Dilip Kumar and Sanjay Khan kept their ‘Hindu’ names on the screen, because religion did not enter here at that time. Coins of art and acting were being played. The dominance of dynasticism still exists today and it was there before. The next generation has come from families like Kapoor, Roshan, Dutt and Shantaram.

But only the people who did good work lasted in Mumbai. Mumbai has always prided itself on quality. Rajesh Khanna did not belong to any family neither did Jeetendra and Dharmendra. Each of them considered Mumbai as their workplace and contributed to building and grooming Mumbai. They did not hate crocodiles while living in the water or threw stones at the house of others by staying in a glasshouse. Those who threw them cursed Mumbai and Maharashtra.

Underestimating Mumbai

The Shiv Sena said that underestimating Mumbai means digging a pit for themselves. Maharashtra is the land of saints-mahatmas and revolutionaries. Aurangzeb’s tomb in Sambhajinagar and Afzal Khan’s tomb in Pratapgarh is the proof of Maharashtra with a huge heart honouring it.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj gave Bhavani sword in the hand of this huge-hearted Maharashtra. Balasaheb Thackeray held the spark of self-respect in the other hand. If someone feels that the spark has gone out, then they should blow it once!

The dispute and war of words between Kangana Ranaut and Shiv Sena has been going on for the last few days. Before she arrived on Wednesday, BMC demolished her office. However, the Bombay High Court later ordered a stay on the action of the BMC.
