Pune Airport To Get New Terminal Building By December 2021

Pune, September 4, 2020: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has said that the construction work of the new terminal building of Pune airport will be completed by December 2021.

The construction of Pune airport’s new terminal building started in December 2018. The tender has been awarded to Mumbai-based ITD Cementation Pvt Ltd. About 25 percent construction work has been done till now. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the work was stopped in March.

“Transformation is underway at Pune Airport! Construction of the New Integrated Terminal Building at Pune Airport has begun. With an estimated cost of Rs 475 cr, a massive build up of over 5,00,000 sqft. with passengers capacity of 19 MPPA is likely to be finished by Dec 2021,” AAI mentioned in the tweet.

“The new building will be energy-efficient with GRIHA rating 4. Centrally air-conditioned, the state-of-the-art structure will include 5 Passenger Boarding Bridges, 8 escalators, 15 lifts, 34 check-in counters, in-line baggage handling system similar to other metro airports in India,” read the tweet.
