Pune: Foreigner Arrested With 55 Grams of Cocaine in Kondhwa

Kondhwa, September 4, 2020: The sleuths from the Pune City Police’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (East region) today arrested a 27-year-old foreigner with 55 grams cocaine worth Rs 3.3 lakh from his possession.

Police have also seized a two-wheeler and mobile phone from the accused James Hillary Ausi, a native of Mwanza in Tanzania. Based on a complaint from Assistant Police Inspector Bapu Raikar, an FIR has been registered with Kondhwa police station for offences under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

A team led by Police Inspector Vijay Tikole, in-charge of the Crime Branch’s Anti-Narcotics Cell (East region) was patrolling in Kondhwa, when they received information about the accused who was standing near Shree Beer Shopee in Maralnagar, Kondhwa. Accordingly, the cops went there and nabbed him.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Morale, DCP (Crime) Bachchan Singh and ACP Vijay Chaudhary supervised the investigation team which included policemen Inspector Tikole, API Raikar, Arjun Divekar, Praful Sable, Dattatray Katam, Shivaji Rahigude, Vishal Shinde, Vishal Dalvi, Amit Chhadidar, Chetan Shirolkar and Yogesh Mohite.
