Kondhwa, June 13, 2020: When police constables Prashant Kamble and Anand Dangar, attached to the Kondhwa Police station of Pune City Police were passing by on their patrol during the lockdown, they saw a man bleeding from a head wound. On stopping, they donned gloves and approached him, and asked what had happened.

Says Kamble, “He got a fit, and struck his head on a stone, and had a finger deep wound. We immediately put him in an auto, took him to the nearest doctor. The doctor wasn’t around, so we called him, and he said he would need stitches, so he temporarily bandaged him, we fed him and took him to the Meenatai Thackeray Hospital in Kondhwa, where he got the stitches and medicines.”

They then spoke to their senior, who dispatched the police van with two more constables and they shifted him to Sassoon hospital for further care. Last heard the street beggar is fit and fine. The khaki helping hand once again helped save a life.
