Pune: Deputy CM Ajit Pawar orders action against negligent hospitals

Pune, June 6, 2020: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar today warned the private hospitals treating corona patients that negligence will not be tolerated. Pawar has said that the negligence of some private hospitals in times of crisis like Coronavirus epidemic is serious and negligence will not be tolerated in the treatment of patients. He has also ordered that action should be taken against the negligent hospitals.

Pawar tweeted, “Today, a review meeting to discuss Corona prevention measures was held in Jhumbar Hall of Vidanbhavan, Pune. At the meeting, directed that action should be taken against the negligent hospitals and Senior Officers should be appointed to coordinate with these hospitals.”

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Pawar at Vidhan Bhavan in Pune today about prevention measures for Coronavirus outbreak. The meeting was attended by Mayor Muralidhar Mohol, Divisional Commissioner Dr Deepak Mhaisekar, Jamabandi Commissioner S Chokkalingam, Pune Police Commissioner K Venkatesham, Pune District Collector Naval Kishore Ram, Superintendent of Police Sandeep Patil, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Ayush Prasad, and officers of various departments.

Pawar has also ordered to appoint senior officers to coordinate with the hospitals. “The big challenge is to prevent the spread of the corona and speed up the economic cycle. For this, it is necessary to gradually accelerate the economic cycle by strict implementation of Corona preventive measures. Citizens must be disciplined. It often looks awkward in some places. In order to curb COVID19, it is necessary to create discipline by taking preventive measures regularly. Efforts should be made for this through the coordination of various agencies”, said Pawar.

He has instructed that safety measures should be planned by reviewing the rules regarding lockdown, guidelines coming from the Central and State Governments, as well as the local situation in Pune district and city. “Efforts are being made by the state government to revive the industry. In order to provide employment, it is necessary to start a business and make people’s life smoother. At the same time, locals will be given priority in employment and for this, employment training will be given under the government’s skill development program”, informed the deputy CM.
